My Nemesis Returns
Do you remember the white monkey, my nemesis? Well, he's back. He usually appears on laundry day when Mama makes the bed from scratch.
I've got him this time. I love to bunny kick him and sometimes I hiss at him. Other times, I pick him up with my mouth and shake him. Can anyone blame me? He's so diabolical.

Memories of the Cold
This picture was from last year when we still lived in Texas. Believe it or not, it could get pretty cold there. Here's proof:

Stealthy Lucy
Do you see my covert operation? I lie here furtively, casing the joint. Everyone thinks I'm sleeping, but I've got them all fooled.

Weekend Tidbits
Hi,
Lucy's mama, Vicki, here. I wanted to share some pics of the somewhat happy family we've become. It's been a bit stressful for the past week or so. Simba has been hissing and growling a lot at Bucky. He starts something with Bucky, and when Bucky figures out that Simba isn't playing, Bucky responds in kind. We're making some slow progress though.
Today, I went to the vet to buy more fluids for Bucky. Each bag costs over $27 and lasts less than a full week. Needless to say, they're extremely expensive. I'm trying to find a place online that is a lot cheaper. Anyway, while at the vet, I bought a green mousie for the gang (which was just 64 cents).
Here's Bucky in a box with said mouse.

Seeing double? You have to see it to believe it. Lucy and Bucky sleeping in the same bed.
It's going to be a raining this weekend, so I think we'll be spending time at home with the kitties. Bucky has been doing great: playing, eating, loving and napping.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Friday! Hooray!
Hi Friends,
I would like to wish you all a very happy Friday! I hope you all have lovely plans for the weekend. I plan on dreaming about my friends Luna, Peanut, my girlfriends Siena and Chilli, my friends on the island (everyone wants to be an island cat), the Kool Kittie Krew, Kareltje, Kovu, Katie, Henry and Rosie, and my doggie friends Shawnee, Euri, Lucy, and Charlie. I have other wonderful friends that I visit, but I think these may be all the time I have to dream about this weekend since I also need to dream about biting the orange guys and eating fishy heads.

Looking for Sun
I love the sun, sun patches, sun beams, sun puddles or sun slivers. It's so warm and bright.
I seek the sun
so warm and lovely
I follow the fair sun
In hopes I catch a splash of its glow

Exercise?
What is this?
You know, I've overheard the beans talking about how I seem to be getting fatter. I think that's rude. I wonder if this was left out as some kind of hint.
I'm capable of doing my own kind of exercise, thank you very much.
Eh, never mind. Zzzzzzzzzzz...

Award, Lucy's Thoughts & Bucky
I want to thank Iris at Boo-Bah’s Little Sunshines for this nice award (This Blog is a Dream). She has such a sweet blog of her cute doggies and kitties and her pretty home. I’m supposed to give it to 10 people, but I would like to make it available to all of you because I think you all deserve it! I also want to give a shout-out to my bud Peanut over at Boo-Bah’s. We both love our foodies and are therefore well-rounded kitties.
I’m done. Here’s my mama…
Hi. Bucky’s integration into our home has gone amazingly well. I think it’s because he’s been here for two weeks, and Lucy and Simba knew there was a kitty here and had even seen him on a few occasions. There are a few hisses from Lucy and Simba, but that’s about it. His absolute favorite spot is on our heating pad on the couch.
James and I are giving him his fluids daily, and for the most part, that has gone really well. James noticed that he’s missing a few teeth, not just one. That definitely doesn’t inhibit his ability to eat like hog though. He’ll go back to the vet in a few weeks to have his kidney values rechecked. He otherwise seems to feel pretty good. He lounges and sleeps a lot, but who doesn’t in this house (kitties, that is)?
I hope you all, kitties, doggies and humans, have a wonderful weekend!
Bucky has been released from the laundry room. I’m going to let Mama gab about him, but I just want to say a few things. When he was first released, one of the first things he did was go in MY bed on MY blankie and curled up. Well, Mama took care of that before I could slap some fur off of him. He knows to keep his space from me, but I let him sleep on my beans’ bed last night for a short time. Also, I’m enjoying eating all his yummy canned food.

California Girl
These pictures are from when I still lived in California. Mama just found them on the computer. They're from 2005, so I was just nine years old.
Obviously, Mama was a bit over zealous in playing with the free camera software.

OK, I'm a Little Curious...Just a Little
Hi,
Like my friends over at Kool Kittie Krew said, for the most part I don't give a rat's butt about the intruder, aka Bucky. I have been showing some mild interest however. I would like to deny this, but my beans have seen me a few times at the laundry room door. My papa has even seen me gently put my paws under the door. I can't deny any of this because he snapped a picture of me last night in the act.
Simba and I have seen him. I don't see what the big to-do is. I just look at him. Mama thinks I show interest in him because he has some good smelling food. Well, whatever the reason, I'm not telling.
Lucy's mama here for a quick note to say that we've given fluids to Bucky twice now. We prayed first and we think the good Lord guided our hands because it has gone very well. He seems to be feeling better too.

Bucky Part 3
Dear Friends,
I took Bucky back to the vet today. His kidney and anemia numbers are worse today than they were on Monday. The vet was hoping that with him getting lots of fresh water and good food this week, his numbers would look better. Unfortunately, that was not the case. In fact, she said that his blood results were so bad that she's surprised that he's eating and doing as well as he is.
The bottom line is that we have to give him fluids subcutaneously daily. We are dreading it. He got some fluids today at the vet, and he wasn't happy. He was so good the whole time--we were there almost two hours--but he complained about the fluids. I also have to say everyone at the vet's office just loved him. He is so amazingly good and sweet. He was just hanging out in the room with me either on my lap or stretched out on the floor. I've been doing some reading and one thing we'll do is warm the fluid bag up in hopes that will make him more comfortable. He's also now on a prescription diet for his kidneys. Oh, I didn't mention it, but he also had tested positive for heartworm. There's no treatment for heartworm in cats, but the end result can potentially be severe. Since there's nothing we can do about it, we will just pray and hope for the best.
When I left the vet's office, I was feeling pretty low. We're spending a lot of money, and I can't bear the thought of poking him with a needle every day. I'm doing better now. We'll just have to take it one day at a time. On the upside, James and I celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary tomorrow.
Sorry to take over Lucy's blog again. I just wanted to let everyone know about Bucky. I told myself to keep this short and sweet, but since I have tendency to be longwinded anyway, there wasn't much chance that was going to happen. If you're still with me, thank you!
His tail looks a little plumey in the above shot, but it's not at all. The vet said that his tail was broken at some time in his mysterious past.

Catnip Pizza
Have you ever had a catnip pizza? This picture is of me and my brother, Simba, about three years ago. We were still living in California, and we got a catnip pizza for Christmas.
A catnip pizza has lots catnip on it with crunchy treats and dried fish flakes on top. It comes in a big pizza box. Yum!
Added note from Lucy's mama again: I'll post another update on Bucky again soon. He has to go back to the vet tomorrow to be retested for a few things. His blood work results came back yesterday, and there are quite a few concerns. Hopefully, the second test will tell a better story. I'll let you all know soon!

Intruder Update
Lucy’s mama, Vicki, here…
I wanted to give you an update on the new kitty Lucy posted about yesterday. Let’s face it, Lucy doesn’t give a flying fig about him, so I thought I would do the post today.
His official new name is Bucky. My husband, James, named him this due to several factors: He was found in Buckingham, PA at an abandoned train depot, Buckingham Valley Train, right next to Buckingham Lumber Yard in Bucks County. I apologize if Lucy gave the impression that his name was Money Pit. She was being sarcastic because she overheard me grumbling to James how much money the little guy cost us at the vet.
Tuesday morning he peed all over his bed, towel and the floor. It was almost like a gigantic water puddle but it definitely had that ammonia smell to it. When James bought his bed, he didn’t check the washing instructions. Unfortunately, it’s hand wash only. I therefore washed his bed and the floor. (James washed the bed again. It's not easy getting that urine smell out.) I can’t figure it out because he used his litter box on Sunday. I’m writing this Tuesday evening and he hasn’t pooped (sorry for the bluntness) at all. Also, he drinks water like crazy. To sum it up, since he came here Sunday early evening, he’s gone to the bathroom three times (number one only). The vet is supposed to call tomorrow with the results of his full-panel blood test, and I’ll mention it to her.
The good news is that his nose didn’t run at all today. It’s still a little wet and crusty, but Sunday and Monday, he was sneezing and had mucus hanging out of his nose.
I wanted to thank you all for your nice comments on both my and James’ blog. We both appreciate the kindness and support a lot. It’s amazing the sweet friends we’ve made in the blogging world.
I’m still unhappy because he has to be in our windowless, tiny laundry room for at least a few weeks. I feel so bad. We visit him from time to time throughout the day, but I just feel like he must be lonely and bored in there.
Thanks for listening!

Intruder Alert
Something new is happening at our house. Sunday, Daddy was in a rural field looking for things to take pictures of. He found something unexpected. He took a wrong turn and found an abandoned orange kitty next to an abandoned train.
You can't tell in the picture, but one of his ears are torn and he has a very runny nose. Also, his lip hangs on one side. This is because he's missing a tooth. The beans took him to the vet this morning. He got an exam, full blood work, flea treatment, deworming treatment, claw clipping and an antibiotic shot. I overheard the beans say we should name him Money Pit.
The vet thinks he's 7 to 10 years old based on his teeth. Also, he's neutered.
He has to be seperated from Simba and me for at least two weeks because he could get us sick with his respiratory infection. Since we live in an apartment, this means he has to live in the laundry room. Mama worries that he won't be happy in there. He did get a new bed and toy though.
Mama says he's very sweet. He doesn't really meow much unless he's lonely. Then he cries loudly. Mama doesn't know if there's much hope in placing him in a good home, and Daddy is already attached to him. Mama is worried about introducing us to him. She's afraid the fur is going to fly.
I can't believe I'm going to have to live with two boy cats!

Ramblings
Hi,
This was a good weekend. I had lots of good naps and sweet dreams. A few other items that were on my agenda are below.
I hung out and surveyed my domain. (Notice how I have destroyed the beans' couch. They put a sheet on it, but that doesn't stop me.)
I kept the orange cat in line.
I also had some fun.

Laundry Day
I love when my mama washes the sheets. After the sheets are washed and dried, she throws them in a heap on the bed. I love to sleep in an unmade bed.
Then, I play. I loves to play in an unmade bed!
As mama gets ready to make the bed, I like to first show her that it's my bed.
Then, I play. I loves to play in an unmade bed!
Lastly, I hide. Do you know where I am?
