Remember Me Thursday / Thankful Thursday

Remember Me Thursday, now in its sixth year, is a day to shine a light on orphan pets waiting in shelters and rescues to be adopted. There are too many. Opt to adopt!

As I'm sure most of our friends know, Annie and Pierrot are both rescue kitties. We rescued Annie from her previous owners before she was relinquished to a shelter (and may have been put to sleep because of all her problems). We adopted Pierrot from Save the Cats, a cat rescue and foster organization, who rescued him from the streets. We love them very much!

Well, the lady was able to get us both in the picture, but we wouldn't look at the camera at the same time.

Friday Wrap-Up

It’s been a nice week with fresh breezes, quiet, and sunshine. My back has been doing a little better. All in all, I have no complaints. Well, if pressed, I must say that Pierrot‘s presence bugs me. Speaking of bugs, Pierrot was out on the balcony yesterday. The lady saw him staring and gently touching a bug that, to hear her tell it, was the size of Texas. She quickly got the big guy, aka the bug catcher. He said it was a beetle and relocated him. Pierrot was looking intently for that beetle for quite some time before giving up.

I hope it’s been a good week for you. I say let’s celebrate the weekend with treats!

Sunshine and a Fly

Hello, friends! I'm glowing in the California sun.

The other day, the lady saw me stalking something in her closet. The big guy wasn't home, and she was anxiously awaiting his return so he could dispose of whatever it was (she deliberately didn't put on her glasses because she didn't want a closer look). When the big guy got home, it was gone. The next morning, she found it dead on the carpet. "It" was a fly. Good enough to kill but not to eat and certainly nothing to get squeamish about. When it comes to bugs and spiders, she always assumes the worst. Panic first is her motto. That's my motto too when it comes to unwanted houseguests.

Sunday Stuff

When Pierrot looks out the window and sees something he considers interesting, he becomes transfixed.  It could be a bird, a bug, a dog, or even a person. There's no diverting his attention, even with food.

Have you heard the word smize? It means smiling with your eyes.

Laboring

Every year on Labor Day, we have to show a photo of us "hardly laboring." I know that joke is as old as the hills (kind of like the lady, MOL), but it just fits so well. We proudly show our lack of labor.

Pierrot took his selfie while hanging out in the closet. We both love getting in the lady's small, cramped closet.

I took my selfie while hanging out on the couch, something I don't often do. The rare times I ask to go on the couch always surprise the lady and big guy.
