Thankful Thursday

Pierrot wants everyone to know what fun he had at his Pappy's house, as you can see here. Yep, he's hanging out on the couch with a cigar and popcorn.

He got a new scratcher from some dear friends and received some toys from other kind friends including the one he's suffocating lying on here.

There are no pictures, but I got treats the last few days in a row!

It was a blessed and happy Christmas and we are most thankful. We join Brian and his family at Brian's Home for the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

We're also joining Dezi and Raena's Blessing Train, and Thankful Thursday is the perfect day for it! We are blessed to have our home, food, and lots of love.

Merry Christmas

We want to wish you, our friends, a happy Christmas. No matter how you spend the holidays, we hope it's with those you love, whether furry, non-furry, or both!

Merry Christmas!

Thankful Friday

I’m sorry we missed Thankful Thursday because today we have a lot for which to be thankful. We had some heavy rain a few weeks ago and it caused damage to our ceiling. The apartment management asked us to stay in a hotel for three days this week so they could put in a new ceiling. That meant I had to be boarded and Pierrot had to go to his Mammy & Pappy’s house. He’s still there. Pappy wants him for as long as possible. I said, “Sure! You can have him until the turn of the next century.” Of course, nobody listened. Well, we got home yesterday afternoon, and we’re all very happy to be home. The lady snapped this picture of me through the glass when she went to pick me up. I didn't even know she was there.

I was dreaming of home sweet home.

Thankful Thursday

I got this lovely, soft heating pad a few months ago. It came from some very kind friends. When it's plugged in, it has just the right amount of heat. If it's not plugged in, it's still very soft and comfy. Sometimes, I lie on it with my whole body, and sometimes, like here, I lie on it with half my body. Actually, it's just my tush that's hanging off. I want to say how thankful we are for this gift that makes my body feel better. We may be slack in mentioning it on the blog, but I've been using and loving it the whole time (and we did send a personal thank-you note a while back).

Here's a little cheek:

Thankful Thursday

My favorite thing is seeing a kitty in a window. When I'm out taking a walk or just walking to the car from our apartment, when I see a cat in a window, I'm instantly happy. I love this cozy picture of Annie. How happy I'd be in a warm cabin with a fire in the fireplace, Annie in the window, and snow outside. That's certainly not the case in California! We live near the beach, and while we don't have any pine trees or snow, we do have palm trees and sunshine (except it's been raining the last two days). No matter where I am, I'm thankful that Annie is with me.

Finally Friday

Another week wrapped up just about. Did your peeps do any Black Friday shopping to take advantage of the deals? The lady did an online shopping trip on Cyber Monday for our food and litter and got some great deals.

We had a nice week and hope you all did as well. What do you have planned for the weekend? Pierrot and I will do nothing and laugh at the lady when she does chores.

Happy Paws

Hello and happy Sunday! We hope you had a nice Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and you're having a nice weekend. The lady was going through some pictures taken earlier this year and found this 14-second video of me taken in early May right before we moved back to California. If you have sound, you'll hear my purring.

Happy Thanksgiving

We wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. For those outside the U.S., happy Thankful Thursday.

We have much for which to be thankful including all of you, our home, each other, food, safety, and so much more! We're joining Brian's Home, host of the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Food!

I discovered something yummy. Chicken in chicken noodle soup. I normally don't care for non-catfood chicken, but these chickens were soaked in broth and so tasty!

For those in the U. S., are you looking forward to Thanksgiving? I am! I saw the food the lady got us for that day. I've had it once before and it's to-die-for! It comes from Trader Joes.

Looks like I talked only about food in this post. Well, what could be more riveting? (That was actually a rhetorical question.)

We've Got the Life!

Here I am, happy in the afternoon sunshine.

Here's one of Pierrot. By the way, the other white kitty was in the house again. Pierrot pounced on him from across the room.

Pictures from Home

As you may know, I work from home. A few days ago, though, I had to go to the office because IT needed to make some changes to my computer. My husband sent me some pictures of the cats throughout the day with captions. I'm including just two here. Sorry about the quality. They were quick pictures with his cell phone, not intended for public posting, but I couldn't resist.

Where's Ma?

Pierrot's mad. He said he was hungry, but he doesn't like the food I put out.

Thankful Thursday

We want to thank you for your supportive and understanding comments on our last post. It means a lot, but even more because my family and friends, for the most part, do not understand.  For that, we are thankful!

We are joining Brian at Brian's Home, host of Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Are you thankful today? We'd love to hear about it in the comments and/or join the blog hop.

Nipped and Annie's Back

Nip fun

We call this, "Nip Aftermath"

I want to share a little about Annie's vet travails. She's been countless times this year, both in PA and CA, in an attempt to help her back pain. The main way the pain/discomfort manifests itself is when she uses the litter box. It prevents her from being able to hold the crouch pose cats have to be in to go #2. Her legs always give out and she has to walk and poop to get it out. Urination is almost as bad. She therefore almost always goes outside of the box where we have a ton of piddle pads. She walks very stiffly and wobbly and has what seems to be a touch of lameness in her left rear leg. Her spine is prominent due to muscle wasting. She's otherwise happy and doesn't seem to be in a lot of pain. Friday, I took her to see a neurologist. I learned a little more, but without an MRI he cannot see what's going on with her discs. X-rays only show bone. The estimate for the MRI is $2,400 and she would have to be anesthetized. If the MRI showed a bulging disc, the next step would be surgery. I really don't want to put her through that, and honestly, the expense of these things is just too high. I've already spent more than I care to think about with the vets. I've decided I have vet fatigue. She's also had two senior blood panels this year, the most recent showing anemia and potassium deficiencies as well as an increase in red blood cells. She's taking a supplement for the deficiencies and she'll be retested for the RBC in December. If you've read this, thank you. I don't talk much about these things on the blog, but this has been a big part of our lives this year, and I just needed to vent.

Super Annie

One more picture of me with the red tie, which if you can believe, came from a rubbish bag. This picture makes the lady think of me as Super Annie, who rescues the lady from any sadness and loneliness, and always puts a smile on her face and warmth in her heart.

Gone and Back

The lady was out of town this week in Atlanta on business. We missed each other. The big guy texted some pictures of me to cheer her. These pictures melted her heart.

(The lady missed Pierrot too, but for whatever reason, the big guy only took pictures of me. Pierrot and the big guy are best friends.)

Sunday Thoughts

This picture makes the lady chuckle. It reminds her of a commercial that used to come on every year at holiday time showing a little boy sitting at the dining table by himself, and then you hear, "Looks like someone is ready to eat!"

Pierrot is being his typical photogenic self.

Thinking about food reminds me of the treats I posted a week or two ago in hopes the lady would buy them for me. They were the special Halloween edition Temptations, Mummy Mixups, with a picture of a kitty mummy. Well, not only did the lady not buy them for me, she bought them for another kitty! Our kitty friend in Washington had a birthday and we sent them to him for a gift. Well, if I didn't get them, at least he did. He's a sweet pal.

Finally Friday!

The one-eared, one-eyed kitty!

Yesterday, Pierrot punched out a white kitty. Yes, he did. He gave several whaps to his reflection in the closet mirror!

This is a throwback to a few months ago in our house in Pennsylvania getting ready for our move to California. Pierrot is showing off the longest kitty legs in history.

Sunday Thoughts

Hello, friends! It's been a great week of being like a cow nomming our kitty grass. I even got treats yesterday. What about today, though? Will I get treats today?

Pierrot looks pensive. I wonder what he's thinking.

Annie's Lawn Service

Oh, hi! I was just enjoying some cat grass. I haven't had any in a long time. I love it! It was a gift from some dear, thoughtful friends (along with some other things). We are very blessed.

I wish you a grassy Friday!

Happy

Yesterday, we had lovely sunshine and fresh breezes. Happiness was in the air. We hope you see happy kitties in these pictures.

Remember Me Thursday / Thankful Thursday

Remember Me Thursday, now in its sixth year, is a day to shine a light on orphan pets waiting in shelters and rescues to be adopted. There are too many. Opt to adopt!

As I'm sure most of our friends know, Annie and Pierrot are both rescue kitties. We rescued Annie from her previous owners before she was relinquished to a shelter (and may have been put to sleep because of all her problems). We adopted Pierrot from Save the Cats, a cat rescue and foster organization, who rescued him from the streets. We love them very much!
