Tuesday with a Green Mousie

Green mousies make my eyes glow like....green mousies.
Hey, where did he go?
I still can't find him. (Hint: Bucky, he's behind you.)
All's right with the world now.

Hangin' Out

This is what I plan on doing this weekend: hangin' out, nappin' and watching the birds from the patio if it's warm enough. How about you? What are you doing?  The beans are going to an art exhibit in Philadelphia. Personally, I prefer looking at birds and bugs than art, but that's just me.

Thursday's Photo Game and Sharing the Sunshine

I was tagged by my sweet friends at The Kool Kittie Krew.

Here's how it works:

1. Open the first photo folder
2. Scroll down to the 10th photo
3. Post the 10th photo and tell the story about it
4. Pass this along to 5 other blogs

I am playing on the stairs here. That little brown thing on the step in front of me is a little burlap bag with catnip. The little blurry orange thing below is Simba. Once in a blue moon, the beans pull out the nip and get us to play on the stairs.  It's pretty fun.

I would like to pass this along to:
Rosie, Henry, Charlie and Cindy at A House with Two Cats
Peanut, Marshmallow, Ruby, Pearlene and Iris at Boo-Bah's Little Sunshines
Cheryl and Buddy at Life is What You Make It
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also was given this Sharing the Sunshine award by Iris and her gang, Peanut (he's sooo cute), Marshmallow, Ruby and Pearlene over at Boo-Bah's Little Sunshines. Thank you! It is so sweet of you to give this to us. The rules are to share it with 12 other inspiring blogs that bring sunshine to you. Well, I had a hard enough time picking just five to share the above with, so I would like to extend this to all of you. We love visiting all of your blogs and encourage you to pick this up!
Beautiful Blogger
We were given the Beautiful Blogger award by our friends Lautrec and Tiny at Weez da Bad Cats.  They are so sweet to give this to us.
The rules are very simple.  We are to list 7 things about us and then offer the award to 7 beautiful bloggers.
  1. I was adopted by my mama when I was about six months old from a shelter. I am now 13 years old.
  2. Simba came from Reno, NV and has an interesting story that we will share in the near future.
  3. Bucky meows in his sleep.
  4. Mama calls me sweetart because sometimes I'm sweet but other times I'm...not so sweet. I'm rarely a lap kitty, but I purr a lot and love to be petted.
  5. Simba is obsessed with water and considers it his life's pursuit to drink from the faucet. He runs around the house meowing at the top of his lungs for water even though there are multiple clean water dishes around with fresh water in all of them.
  6. I've lived in three different states, flown in an airplane twice and stayed in three different hotels.  Simba has done all this too.
  7. Bucky curls up with Mama in bed every night, but I don't sleep with her anymore and she's sad about that.
We are now to give this to 7 other beautiful bloggers. We just want to state upfront that we think you all have beautiful blogs, but here are the 7 we are tagging:
Fuzzy Tales
Busy, Busy Buttons
We Love Luna
Sumac Stories
Lilacs & Cats
Kareltje en Ikke!!!
Mancat Monday in Style!
It's been said that orange and blue are the lastest colors in fashion.
 Hmmm....well, let it never be said that we're not fashionable around here:
We much prefer orange kitties and blue blankets.
Sunbeams!
I was out on our patio yesterday morning for the first time since early fall. The sun was shining and it got to 71F/21C degrees.  I went outside three times. Mama is turing into my personal doorwoman.
Mice
So I was trying to show Lucy my mouse-catching techniques.  She wouldn't listen to me.  She doesn't believe there are actual real mice outside.  I said, "Lucy, there really are live mice outside in fields and such.  Honest."  She laughed and said, "They're just toys, silly."  Oh well.  Frankly, I'm glad I don't have to deal with mice anymore.  I actually prefer these toy versions. The lady's cooked chicken tastes a lot better than mice anyway.
Some New Toys
Remember that I told you that Mama was going to New York last Saturday?  Well, she came home with all kinds of goodies, but they were all for her and Papa.  She brought home coffee and cheese and cookies and so on.  She said she couldn't find us anything.  She saw two pet stores, but they only sold food and dog toys.
Well, all that is just fine because look what came today!
Mama saw a dragonfly toy over at Fuzzy Tales and thought it would be a great toy for us. Mama is trying to get Bucky to play with it in this picture.
We also got two catnip mousies.  They are from Guatemala and are free trade and organic.
Can you see it? I'm lovin' on it, but you can see a little of the blue.
 You can see the other mousie in the forefront of this picture. We also got fish oil that Mama puts in our food cuz we got the itchies from the dry winter.
 This is a great day and we're all really happy!
Exercise (Again)?
I've seen this before.
I still don't understand what I'm supposed to do with it, though.
Eat it?  No...
Try to roll it?  Uff.  Too heavy!
When all is fails, stare it down.
If this is some kind of ploy to get me to exercise, I think the beans should adopt our way of exercising instead.
Bucky's in the Lounge
Hi. Bucky here. I sometimes like to hang out in the coat closet next to the vacuum. I get a good view of all the goings on.  I sleep very heavily, and I get very startled if woken up.  I make noises and look all around.  I don't hear the vacuum or anything else apparently.  I've heard the lady talk to the man about this and they both think that I'm deaf, whatever that means.
Here I am sound asleep.
Here I am just woken up by somone.
Happy Monday!
Finally Friday!
I want to wish you all a happy Friday. I'm planning on a quiet weekend. Mama and Papa are going to New York tomorrow for the day, so I won't be able to post or visit.  I'll be around today, though.  Sunday will be a day of church, getting things done and hopefully a little relaxation.  I'm speaking for Mama.  I always have time for relaxation.
Cats are Wonderful Friends
Cats are Wonderful Friends
Gentle eyes that see so much
paws that have the quite touch,
Purrs to signal "all is well"
and show more love than words could tell.
Graceful movements touched with pride,
a calming presence by our side --
A friendship that takes time to grow --
Small wonder why we love them so.
A Beautiful Pink Quilt
It's no secret that pink is my favorite color.  Pink is also the color of breast cancer awareness.  Kathy at Katney's Kaboodle sent us a beautiful pink quilt.
It came in this box.
I love to rub my itchy chin on it.
We want to show you some pictures of the quilt so you can see how beautiful it is and how talented Kathy is.  There is more detail to it than you can see in the picture. She stiched in the names of loved ones who have had breast cancer as well as this quote: "Cancer is a word, not a sentence."
This is the reverse side.
It looks like it was made for me, but Mama insists that it was not.
We hope to have the pleasure to sponsor Kathy again on the next 3-day breast cancer walk.
