Action Packed

These are some action shots of yours truly.  Why?  According to Mama, it's so rare that I'm in action that she had to document it for proof.  Whatever.

Who's the Boss?

Yesterday Mama was leading a conference call (she works from home). I jumped in her lap and blocked her view to her computer. All she had to do was make sure my bowl was full of crunchies before she got on the call.  I'm pretty sure she's learned her lesson.

Happy Friday!

Puzzle Me This

Where is the mouse?
Where is the cream?
Where is the hearth where one like me can dream?

I am just a cat
But a cat with dreams
Of flowers and mice and warm sunbeams

So please will you tell me
Why when I wake
There are two orange brothers
And no mice for cat's sake?

Mancat Monday

Bucky and Simba aren't really friends, but we were able to capture them together on a rare, playful day a few months ago. I was looking back on some pictures when we first got Bucky and he was so playful. I have been having a hard time getting him to play lately. It seems like he wants to but then he just sits there. Anyway, both these orange guys are fun to have in our household.

Ramblings

Hi friends. We are very happy it's the weekend!  Mama is making cookies today because she saw Iris, Peanut's mom, making cookies and they looked good.

Yesterday, Mama went to the vet to buy a 12-pack of fluid bags and special food for Bucky.  For all the money that is spent on him, I could have a lifetime of catnip and fishy heads.  Bucky has been bullying me lately. He bites me so he can have my sleeping spot.  It happens all the time, no matter where I am, and Mama is not happy about it. I haven't been sleeping in the bed with her because Bucky is there.

I feel I must explain why there is a white wire that is always in my pictures.  It's Mama's cable cord. It run through the house, from the modem to her computer in the dining room where she works.  It's a very rinky-dink outfit around here.

I wish you all a very happy and fun weekend of doing what you like best.  I'd love to hear what's on your agenda. My agenda is filled with naps and foodies.

Special Delivery to Peanut's House

Peanut made me a Valentine. Isn't that the sweetest?  I've never had a Valentine before. I'm now trying to mail myself to his house.  Mama says just because I'm on a stamp doesn't mean the US Postal Service is going to actually send me.  Well, a girl has got to try, doesn't she?  Mama is just afraid I won't come back (word is Peanut has an endless supply of Fancy Feast). OK, if I can't send myself, I want to send him a fishy head. Mama says I might give Iris (Peanut's mommy) a heart attack.  Nothing is working out today. I'm sorry, Peanut!

Mancat Monday

I don't know why I let these mancats in my lounge, but here they are. They both look a little grouchy.

Bucky's Vet Appointment

Monday evening, I took Bucky to a new vet to get a second opinion.  I did not feel the present vet was giving Bucky the proper care.
Trying to stay warm. The poor unsuspecting sap had no idea he was going to the vet later.

The new vet was very nice and very thorough.  She estimates his age between 12 and 14, but for the life of me, I can't remember what she based that on except for his eyes. She said that the amount of fluids I was giving him was akin to sprinkling water on him.  He'll still be on the fluids every other day, but he'll be receving a lot more per session. He will also have potassium and B vitamins in his fluid bag.  The vet sells the fluids at a even cheaper price than what I found online. He's now on a prescription diet.
Waiting at the vet for his blood test results

His blood test results are the same (well, a shade worse actually). He has a heart murmur, but that's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself.  His blood pressure is perfect.

He's such a good boy. He puts up with the fluids and behaves so well at the vet. He's a big sweetheart, so it's really no wonder we've taken him in and spent heaps of cash on him.

Musings on a Wednesday

Hi friends. Well, the last few days mama has had a cold. It's been business as usual around there though. She's been working, cleaning, cooking, taking care of Bucky and even took Bucky to the vet (more on that later).
I was waiting for her to come take a nap with me--she is sick after all--but it never happened. The least she could is give me her undivided attention but that hasn't happened either. Well, in lieu of all that, I'm going to daydream about fishy heads, chicken guts and warm sunbeams.  Do daydreams get any better than that?  Throw in a bed that's ready to be made with fresh clean sheets and I've hit pay dirt.

Happy Wednesday!

Lucy and Simba Smack Down

Really, I'm just an innocent sweet thang that would never fight and muss up my furs. Simba forced me to do that. You believe me, don't you?
