Crazy Cats

Pierrot and Annie have been replaced by these crazies.

Eeek!

The big guy saw Pierrot stalking the couch so he picked it up to see if there was anything under it and out came a mouse! There may have been a scream, but he said we're not talking about that. Now nobody knows where the mouse is. They're off to the store to buy a humane trap. I heard some complaints about how we have a mouse and two cats. Humph. I never saw a mouse so it's just hearsay.

There's a mouse?

Friendly Fill-Ins

It's Friendly Fill-Ins time, hosted by McGuffy's Reader and 15andmeowing. Today, I, Annie, am replying to all the fill-ins.

1. I would like to interview Garfield. What's his favorite snack (after lasagna)? What does he want for Christmas? What's his favorite TV show? How many naps a day does he take?

2. I would like to be interviewed by anybody! It's fun to share tidbits of my life.

3. Halloween night means treats for me...I hope!

4. Once Halloween is over, the lady will eat lots of chocolate.

Thankful Thursday

We had a happy surprise when we came home from our time away. The evening we arrived home, there was a package waiting for us from The Menagerie Mom. Trout Towne Tabbies had won a giveaway on their blog for a magnet of a kitty napping on a laptop and they asked that it be sent to us. That is just so kind of them! On top of that, they also sent us a magnet of Annie and Pierrot (picture below and in our sidebar) and two toys. Annie and Pierrot were pretty stressed coming home after boarding at the vet and really enjoyed relaxing with these nip toys (after doing some bunny kicks, of course). This package came at the perfect time!

We are thankful for the generosity and thoughtfulness of our friends!

We are joining Brian's Home, host of the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

Liberated!

Pierrot and I are happy to be home safe and sound.  The lady and big guy returned from Miami Thursday evening, and fortunately, the vet where we were being boarded was opened late enough that we got to go home with them that night. We were well taken care of, but there's truly no place like home. Oh! I want to tell you something. When it came time for the workers to pack us up in our carriers to go home, the lady offered her help. They emphatically said absolutely not. Only employees are allowed back there. A few minutes later, they came out and asked the lady to get me. I held off two bossy humans with my growls! What they don't know is I never bite or scratch. Of course, they had to go on and on about how easy and sweet Pierrot was.

This is Annie's lady. I want to just add a short note. I've decided, at least for now, to not give Annie the pain medicine we wrote about in our last post. Since she's not in pain, I feel better not giving her medication. We watch her intently and keep a journal of her episodes. She periodically loses her balance and it seems like this is due to back leg weakness and stiffness, but she doesn't display any pain symptoms. This also does not in any serious way interfere with her activity or lifestyle.

Vet Visit, Going Away, etc.

On Friday, Pierrot and I went to the vet for our annual exams. The lady was proud of how well we did. It was very stressful, though. We will be boarding here at the vet and that's the reason for the exams. They're required. The lady should have taken a picture of the boarding area. It's actually quite nice and for kitties only.

In about a week, the lady and big guy are leaving for four days in Miami. It's an award trip from the lady's work. There will be 600 other employees (1-2% of the company won this annual award) with their guests there as well. The lady doesn't want to be ungrateful--she's very grateful for the recognition--but would actually prefer not to go. She doesn't want to leave us and has some anxiety about all the things planned and forced when on the trip. If it were just a trip for her and the big guy, she would be much more relaxed about it. Enough about her.

Pierrot and I are healthy. The lady will get a call on Monday on urine and poo results. I'm starting a new medication for my back legs. We haven't talked about it here, but I've had an issue with my back legs for at least a year. It got very bad at one time. The lady stopped feeding me food with fish and it improved but it's not perfect. My back legs are very stiff and give out for seemingly no reason one to multiple times a day. I don't seem to be in pain and I even run around when playing. The vet admits it's a mystery on what's causing this. One theory is that because I'm declawed, I walk differently. (Interestingly, she's not convinced that stopping the fish is the reason for the improvement.)  Another theory is that it's arthritis. We will have an x-ray done if I worsen or if the medication doesn't work. The lady isn't completely sure if medication is the right idea long term since I don't seem to be in pain.  I have been getting cosequin for a few months and that also seems to lessen the number of times my back legs give out.

If you've read this far, thank you. We know this is much wordier than we ever post. We sure are revealing today.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Hello! Today, the lady took the day off from work to get some things done. Fortunately, that gives her time to participate in Friendly Fill-Ins too. I helped by doing numbers one and two.

1. October is the perfect time to bring out the blankets and watch the leaves fall.

2. Halloween is fine as long as no kids knock on my door. I used to think trick-or-treating meant they come to bring me cat treats. Turns out I was tricked!

3. Every October, I enjoy the fall season. There's a special feeling in the air. I love the colors of the leaves.

4. My experience with the supernatural world has to do with my Christian faith.

Thank you to our lovely hosts, 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader!

My Week - 9/25

Here's my journal for the week:
  • Since the weather has been cooler, I've been enjoying looking out the window instead of spending much time on the balcony.
  • We received our Chewy delivery and Pierrot is enjoying the packing paper just like Laila.
  • I'm happy about all the food in the Chewy delivery!
  • The lady found the remnants of the moth under a pad we keep on the floor next to the window.
  • I sleep every night in the bed with the lady. I have a routine. She shuts off the light and I have a snack. I then maybe have a drink of water or just hang out for a bit. Then, I meow for her to put me on the bed. The bed is super low and I jump on it during the day, but at night I insist on being put on the bed. I meow until she gets up and lifts me to the bed. This is the way I roll.
Yo, homies!
