Weekend Follow-Up

Mama really appreciated all your comments about me allowing Bucky to have my tail draped on him. Well, the following evening, he batted at my tail and I hissed and smacked him. Mama told me that he was just playing and that, as usual, I overreacted. My motto is hiss and smack first, ask questions later.

This weekend was rather uneventful except for when Mama almost set fire to our apartment.  She put together some corn bread for her and Papa for an early dinner on Saturday.  Once the oven was preheated, the whole place was smokey.  It turns out there was a piece of paper in the oven that completely burned. Our whole home was smoke filled.  After a few hours of every window being open, all is well and smoke free. Crazy mama.

  5. We have a double oven and back when I could eat donuts I would put a package of them in the bottom oven to have the next morning. Come down, think I was turning on the top oven and turn on the bottom oven instead...melting the plastic wrapped donuts...causing a great stink and messing up breakfast completely.

Lucy, it is a fairly common thing for Moms to do from time to time...not fun, kind of stinky, but no real harm done.

Fidget likes to play with Greyhound tails here, scares off Renner who is scared of Fidget...Scooter doesn't care though. That being said he prefers to play with Renner's tail because it bothers him more. :)

  6. Oh, oh, sometimes I do that, too, forget something is inside the oven. So I check it all the time. But Lucy, its your mama's birthday, and I've heart he ordered some take out?
That was quick thinking opening all windows, inspite of the cold weather, yet all is well that ends well.

    Happy birthday to your mama!

Thank you for your offer on the HTML guidance. I think I'm not ready yet to have all the right side at the bottom. ;)
Some commenters say it's your birthday today, is it? If so: Happy Birthday!

  11. Oh My!!! Thank goodness it didn't catch fire! And as for Bucky playing with your tail...you did the right thing. But, like your mom says, he just really wants to be furriends. Cricket got a whap from King, for doing the same thing. We hope you can stop by tomorrow for Skeeter's 13th purrday pawty bash!

  12. Happy Birthday to your mom! I do hope Lucy that you and the siblings sang Happy Birthday to her today. My mom says that moms sometimes do things like fill the house up with stinky smoke, spill water all over the floor, etc.,etc. I figure as long as she takes great care of me she is forgiven.

  14. Hi Lucy,
Well I know the smack first policy is certainly one my kittie sisters adhere to, I've got the scars to prove it! Ouch!
    Glad you are smokefree.
    Luv, Lucy (Woof!)
P.S. You look very regal in your picture...Queen Lucy :)

  15. Definitely regal, just so beautiful. Don't worry though, I get smacked all the time. But there comes a time to smack back! You'll know when...

  16. Lucy,
If it weren't for our different colored fur coats, I would think we must have been separated at birth. You stole the words right out of my mouth, "hiss and smack first, ask questions later." Words to live by sister!

That Bucky... you give him an inch and he takes a mile. Like I've said before, Lucy... YOU know who's the boss.

Hey your mom is doing a great job with the camera. Your photo today is GREAT!!! ...of course, a skilled cat model like you certainly doesn't hurt.

    have a great day!
    Katie

P.S. If you ever need to, just use me as a scapegoat. Next time Bucky takes things a little too far and you can't help yourself. Just tell your mom that Katie made you do it. I'll hide and she'll never find me.
