Weekend Follow-Up

Mama really appreciated all your comments about me allowing Bucky to have my tail draped on him. Well, the following evening, he batted at my tail and I hissed and smacked him. Mama told me that he was just playing and that, as usual, I overreacted. My motto is hiss and smack first, ask questions later.

This weekend was rather uneventful except for when Mama almost set fire to our apartment.  She put together some corn bread for her and Papa for an early dinner on Saturday.  Once the oven was preheated, the whole place was smokey.  It turns out there was a piece of paper in the oven that completely burned. Our whole home was smoke filled.  After a few hours of every window being open, all is well and smoke free. Crazy mama.

  1. Hi Lucy
it sounds very dangerous at you place
    all that smoke :(
I am happy you are all okay and nobody hurts!!
Your mama is not crazy it can happens.

Your photo today is very CUTE
you are such a beautiful lady....
    many hugs from me
    Kareltje =^.^=

  2. Yoo has my tude! hehe Its so much more fun to smack first then ask later. MOL

  3. Your today's picture is simply great! the kind i'd put on my wall if I could!
i'm glad to read there was no harm done with the fire!
    Joyeux anniversaire, Vicky! Ü

  4. Oops, I hate when I almost burn down the house! I'm glad all is well!

  5. We have a double oven and back when I could eat donuts I would put a package of them in the bottom oven to have the next morning. Come down, think I was turning on the top oven and turn on the bottom oven instead...melting the plastic wrapped donuts...causing a great stink and messing up breakfast completely.

Lucy, it is a fairly common thing for Moms to do from time to time...not fun, kind of stinky, but no real harm done.

Fidget likes to play with Greyhound tails here, scares off Renner who is scared of Fidget...Scooter doesn't care though. That being said he prefers to play with Renner's tail because it bothers him more. :)

  6. Oh, oh, sometimes I do that, too, forget something is inside the oven. So I check it all the time. But Lucy, its your mama's birthday, and I've heart he ordered some take out?
That was quick thinking opening all windows, inspite of the cold weather, yet all is well that ends well.

    Happy birthday to your mama!

  7. Hehehe, "ask questions later", that's funny. Goodness, we're glad the paper was trapped in the oven. Phew!

  8. Mom to Mom note:
Thank you for your offer on the HTML guidance. I think I'm not ready yet to have all the right side at the bottom. ;)
Some commenters say it's your birthday today, is it? If so: Happy Birthday!

  9. Definitely hiss & smack first! Poor mommy

  10. Lucy! We're glad all that smoke is gone!!

And that's a lovely picture of you today!

(Oh...and is it your mom's birthday today?? If so, Happy Birthday to her!!)

  11. Oh My!!! Thank goodness it didn't catch fire! And as for Bucky playing with your did the right thing. But, like your mom says, he just really wants to be furriends. Cricket got a whap from King, for doing the same thing. We hope you can stop by tomorrow for Skeeter's 13th purrday pawty bash!

  12. Happy Birthday to your mom! I do hope Lucy that you and the siblings sang Happy Birthday to her today. My mom says that moms sometimes do things like fill the house up with stinky smoke, spill water all over the floor, etc.,etc. I figure as long as she takes great care of me she is forgiven.

  13. First, that is a lovely photo of you posing for the camera.

I set off the smoke alarms all the time ...

  14. Hi Lucy,
Well I know the smack first policy is certainly one my kittie sisters adhere to, I've got the scars to prove it! Ouch!
    Glad you are smokefree.
    Luv, Lucy (Woof!)
P.S. You look very regal in your picture...Queen Lucy :)

  15. Definitely regal, just so beautiful. Don't worry though, I get smacked all the time. But there comes a time to smack back! You'll know when...

  16. Lucy,
If it weren't for our different colored fur coats, I would think we must have been separated at birth. You stole the words right out of my mouth, "hiss and smack first, ask questions later." Words to live by sister!

That Bucky... you give him an inch and he takes a mile. Like I've said before, Lucy... YOU know who's the boss.

Hey your mom is doing a great job with the camera. Your photo today is GREAT!!! ...of course, a skilled cat model like you certainly doesn't hurt.

    have a great day!

P.S. If you ever need to, just use me as a scapegoat. Next time Bucky takes things a little too far and you can't help yourself. Just tell your mom that Katie made you do it. I'll hide and she'll never find me.

  17. Oh, you so have that "Go ahead make my day and I will swat you and ask questions later" look on your face. BOL!

  18. Your eyes are so amazing in the photo! Glad you survived all that smoke.

  19. ohmigod what a weekend!
Glad to see everything is okay there and I hope without smoke! LOL
Oh sweet Lucy you are sooo adorable posing for mommy's camera!
    I loved this picture!
Be patient with Bucky okay!He only wants to be your friend! But you know...sometimes for boys it's difficult to know how to express it! :)
Have a nice week my sweet friend!
    purrs and love
    mommy Léia and Luna

  20. Love the motto! You are quite the good looking kitty.
look forward to reading more of your blog.
