Fresh Nip!
Mama bought us a little pot of catnip. I've only had the dried kind, which I love, but the fresh stuff has a wonderful minty scent.
It's pretty powerful stuff. Just one or two leaves do the trick.
Yep, I got a little carried away.
This made for a very fun Saturday morning!

Hooray for the Weekend!
I hope you all have a happy weekend! I'll be having a quiet Saturday. I look foward to sunshine and maybe a few leaves off my new catnip plant. What do you all have planned?

Flowers
Mama used to get flowers from Papa all the time. Then I came along. I love flowers so much that I would always bite, chew and knock over the flowers so they decided it wasn't a good idea to have flowers in the house anymore. Well, I promised that now that I'm older and more mature, I wouldn't do that anymore. Papa brought home some flowers last week to cheer Mama up.
Ack, Mama, sorry! It was just one nibble. I promise!

Laundry Day
What's better than sitting on a pile of Mama's clean laundry and getting all my glorious furs on it you ask?
Why, it would be doing my laundry on top of her laundry.

Oh, How I Love Sun Puddles!
This is how I spent a good part of my weekend:
I hope you all had an equally good weekend! On top of that, Mama was home with me most of the time.

Thanks and the D-Word
Dear friends, we would like to thank you for all your support and kindness about Bucky. It has meant so much to Mama. We have missed everyone.
Mama says she has now set me in her sights. She has no distractions and says it's time for me to lose some weight. She is cruelly posting all my "fat" pictures today.
If you have any suggestions, Mama would love to read them. If you have any suggestions on how I can beat this diet racket, I would love to read them!
I'm 14 years old, and Mama wants to keep me happy and healthy as long as possible.
I wish everyone a very happy weekend!

She is trying to feed me more canned food and less dry but notices that as much as I love the canned, it seems that I don't feel satisfied until I've had my crunchies.

About Bucky
I wanted to let you know that Bucky passed away Wednesday evening.
He was in heart failure and had many things wrong with his heart: end stage caridomyopathy, fibrosis in his heart, a blood clot in his heart and heartworms in his arteries. He had a lot of fluid around his heart. Of course, we had no idea that he had any problems with his heart at all. He started showing symptoms of not being able to breathe very well around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. We took him to the vet and then to the emergency hospital.
He was the most special cat, and I wish I would have talked about him more on the blog. He just gave his love to us unconditionally. I always thought he was so wonderful because I could tell he was grateful to be in our home with us. (For those who don’t know, we only found Bucky six months ago in a field. We took him to the vet the next day and found that he had an upper respiratory infection, kidney failure and anemia. We had been treating his kidney disease daily with fluids.) I have cried myself out and miss him so much. I really wanted to bring him back home. I miss him terribly. I miss his cute face, his nuzzles, his purr, his presence, his gentleness, his love of playing with string and still thinking he sees the string after it was put away, his love of sunbeams, his little noises he made when woken up, his freckles, his fur.
I’m so sorry to have to give this news over the blog. I really enjoyed reading all the comments on the post about the different personalities and affection levels of the kitties and dogs that you share your lives with and it just shows me what a wonderful network of animal lovers and friends that I’ve gotten to know through Lucy’s blog. I really don’t have any animal-loving friends in real life, especially in PA where we moved just less than a year ago. I’m so happy that I have this place to talk about Bucky. James and I are both devastated. We miss him so much and have a lot of sadness.

It may be a little while before Lucy and I start posting again, but we'll be visiting.

How Much Attention Do You Give Your Human?
Hi. I was wondering how many of you are lap kitties or how you show affection to your humans. If you're a human, if you have a kitty, how does he or she show love? I'm not really a lap kitty but will sometimes sit on Mama's lap for a while in the morning if she sits on the floor. I purr a lot and love to be petted. Some nights, I sleep part of the night at the bottom of the bed. Mama thinks that I used to be more affectionate, so we were just wondering about other kitties out there.

We saw this on Ducky and Derby's blog and thought it was a great cause to bring attention to and support.

Ham...Yum...
I enjoyed some yummy Easter ham yesterday. See Simba with the laser eyes? He only likes kibble. When he saw fresh meat, he booked it out of there. How can he not like ham?
Bye bye, Simba! More for me!

Happy Easter!
Happy Resurrection Day
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead... 1 Peter 1:3
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. John 11:25-26

Happy Weekend!
Yesterday, I languished in this comforter all afternoon into the evening. I didn't want to get out!
Around here, as usual we're all happy it's the weekend. We don't have any big plans, but we do celebrate Easter. I think Mama is gonna cook a ham. I'll be front and center for some of that!
Happy weekend!
