Tutu Tuesday
Like I mentioned yesterday, Mama bought me a Halloween costume, but it doesn't fit. They squeezed me into it so they could take pictures. Apparently, Mama thinks these make for good bloggie pictures.
p.s. I got treats after this photo shoot.

This and That
Hi friends!
I hope you had a great weekend! It rained here. I didn't get any sun patches but was cozy in one of my
blankies.
Mama went to get me a Halloween costume. (In all my 13 years, I have never worn a Halloween costume.) She couldn't believe that cat Halloween costumes were just about all sold out in September. She brought a costume home, but it doesn't fit. Apparently, I'm too voluptuous. I think Mama is going to embarass me by putting some of the pictures on my blog tomorrow. I hope Kareltje still likes me (blushies).
I did get some new treats, though. They're chicken treats. I have a lot of problems with itchies on my ears, eyes and chin. Mama has decided to eliminate fish from my diet. Oh no! I think these treats may help the transition. I love them.
Happy Monday!

My Window
Sittin' in my window watchin' all the birds fly by
Sittin' in my window watchin' all the birds fly by
Kitties you don't know a nicer occupation
Matter of fact, neither do I
Then sittin' in my window watchin' all the birds
Watchin' all the birds, watchin' all the birds fly by
I'm the cat that got the cream
Haven't got a bird but I can dream
Haven't got a bird but I can wish
So I'll go to mama's kitchen
And that's where I select some yummy fishy dish

Reflecting on 9/11
We wanted to take time out today in rembrance of 9/11.
“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “- President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001

Fishy Shortcake
Mama made homemade strawberry shortcake this weekend. I think she should have made fishy shortcake. Here’s the recipe:
½ Cup Salmon
½ Cup Tuna
¼ Cup Fishy heads
Whipping cream
Catnip
Mix together the salmon and tuna. Gently fold in the fishy heads. Add a dollop of fresh whipped cream and sprinkle with organic catnip on top.

I hope all my friends have a relaxing weekend and happy Labor Day for those in the US! Anyone have any plans? I’ll be kickin’ it.

My Blankie
Do you see my pink blankie? It’s soft and I love it. Mama got it for me when we were still living in Texas. She took it with us when we stayed in the motel before moving into our apartment in Pennsylvania. In the motel, Simba used it because I spent most of my time under the bed. I love to rest, sleep, lie and play on my blankie. The best is getting treats on my blankie.

My Surgery
Many years ago, in 1998 to be specific, I had to go to the hospital and have surgery on my tummy. I was almost two years old.
I ate a plastic string that came on our newspaper. Daddy saw me eating it and tried to grab me. I ran under the bed while eating it as fast as I could. Mama took me to the vet. The doctors gave me medicine to make me throw up the string but it didn’t work. They were concerned that the string was too deep in my tummy. They had to open my tummy to remove the string and then stitch me back up.
Exhibit A – This is the string I ate.
After the surgery, I had to stay in the hospital for almost a week. Mama was very worried about me and she came to visit me on her lunch hours. Daddy wrote a poem on a tattered piece of paper that Mama saved:
"We love Lucy, our sweet little Goosey
Whose purr is as sweet as her fur
Although she is wild, she is still like a child
So do not despair because God heard our prayer
And soon she’ll be licking our hair "
I couldn’t go home until I did a poop. Mama anxiously waited for that poop. She’d never been so happy to see a poop in her life.
As you can see, many years later, my tummy is as good as new, but please remember, DON'T TOUCH!
