Annie had her surgery earlier today. I received a call at 1:00 letting me know that all went well. The vet called me again at 4:00 to let me know that she's waking up from the anesthesia, but it would be best if I didn't visit her. She said that a lot of times the animal does worse after the owner leaves. Since she'll only be there tonight and I definitely didn't want to upset her care, I conceded. I received another call at 8:00 letting me know she's still doing well but not eating. I let the vet know she only likes fishy foods (she hasn't eaten since 11:00 p.m. last night). I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 to pick her up and learn about her care.

That's such good news! I'm not too sure I agree with the vet on not visiting her though...
ReplyDeleteWhen Cosmo was hospitalised for 4 days (for blockage), he refused to eat anything for ALL 4 days. :)
OH ! This is so good to know her surgery went well. And Tomorrow , she is going to be home ! Hooray !!! and I still purrs more for Annie, for her best healing and eat up : )

Oh thanks for the update. I am so glad that she is doing all right. She probably isn't eating because she is so nervous at being at the vets. Didn't you say that she was very shy when you first got her?? I would imagine she will start eating when you get her home. I don't like the not visiting deal either but if they won't let you bring her home today, I sure would insist that you see her. Keep us updated.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad she made it through okay! Paws crossed for a speedy recovery. We know she'll be much better once she's home with you--and you'll feel so much better too!

ReplyDeleteOh I'm so glad to hear that she's doing well. Hopefully she'll get back to eating once she feels safe back at home x
ReplyDeleteWe're really happy to hear things sent so well for Annie. People don't always feel like eating after surgery too. We're sure she'll eat when she feels a little less woozy and more like herself. She's a cat! We loves to eat! We'll check tomorrow, we hope you'll have time to update.
ReplyDeleteHURRAH! When we brought Felix home from his surgery he was so whipped out and confused it was quite upsetting for all parties involved; so I can see the vet's POV. It's not uncommon for the pain meds to blunt the appetite so give Annie whatever she wants to eat...
ReplyDeleteOnly a couple more hours and she'll be HOME!!
Fantastic.
Miss Annie, three cheers for your new Mommy and your Forever Home!
This is such good news! We are so glad for this bit of happy :-) We hope now things can start to settle down for all you guys.
ReplyDelete(((hugs)))
