A Beautiful Pink Quilt

It's no secret that pink is my favorite color.  Pink is also the color of breast cancer awareness.  Kathy at Katney's Kaboodle sent us a beautiful pink quilt.

It came in this box.
I love to rub my itchy chin on it.
We want to show you some pictures of the quilt so you can see how beautiful it is and how talented Kathy is.  There is more detail to it than you can see in the picture. She stiched in the names of loved ones who have had breast cancer as well as this quote: "Cancer is a word, not a sentence."
This is the reverse side.
It looks like it was made for me, but Mama insists that it was not.
We hope to have the pleasure to sponsor Kathy again on the next 3-day breast cancer walk.

  1. The quilt is beautiful, and as always Lucy, you look pretty in pink!

  2. Love the colors in the quilt, quite beautiful. Oh course, that could be because little Lucy is on it. Love your header photo.

  3. Beautyful quilt, nice work for a great cause!
the pink touch makes it made for you, whatever some may say...Ü

  4. Oh, how fabulous! That quilt is beautiful and for such a worthy cause. Lucy, you look purrfect on it, so lovely!

  5. Oh, your mom is just using reberse psykologies on you. If'n she say it be for you, then she thinks you no want it. If'n she say it not for you, then she thinks you say "No, it be mine!" See how crafty these hoomans is?

BTW, thanks for gibbing a big HISSout to those doodyheds wot did not pick up their dog's poo. I knowed you would come thru for me.

  6. Hi Lucy,
That is a beautiful quilt and you look very lovely on it. Pink is definitely your color.
    Luv, Lucy (Woof!)

  7. It is great that you sponsored her for the Breast-Cancer-Walk. And look at this beautiful, beautiful quilt!

  8. Beautiful! Great work! Enjoy your nap!

  9. A lovely piece of work done with much love and care, the reason why I think Lucy is claiming the quilt as hers.

  10. HI Lucy. I am so glad you like the quilt. I do remind you, though, that it WAS your Mom's name that was drawn from all the folks who supported me in last year's walk, so you had better share!

This morning I registered to walk again in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure. This year I will walk in San Diego, near where I grew up, and where my Mom and sister battled their cancer. They lost their fight, but more and more can survive if we continue the research.

If you want to help again, my donation page is up and ready.

  11. I love quilts ... have several of them but not as special as yours ^,,^

  12. Hi Lucy
    Wonderful piece of handcraft !!
    My compliments for Katney :-)
    Yes Lucy its also yours
I think you can sleep on it..
    Pink is your favorite color
    we all know that ;)
    Hugs Kareltje =^.^=

  13. That quilt is stunning and we think (secretly) she made it for you!

  14. The quilt is so pretty. Lucy I think you look very pretty and comfy on the pink quilt. Tell your mom you will share the quilt with her.

Peanut sends you kisses and purrs, Marshmellow sends his pawshake, the dogs? they send their hello's but if they knew you were a cat they would probably run and hide.
    Mama sends hugs to all.

  15. What a beautiful quilt! I can see why you would claim it as yours. You do look simply smashing on it. However, you probably should share a corner of it with your mom, just to be nice.

  16. That is a beautiful quilt, Lucy, and you look good on it!!

(pee ess. our mom wants to tell your mom that me and Wally don't always get along like it appears sometimes...we have our fair share of spats, but we always seem to put them aside...)

  17. Hi Lucy, you just look so comfy in that quilt, and a really beautiful quilt!

I am also a supporter of breast cancer and I have joined Revlon's Cancer walk since 1997.

    Got to visit Katney's blog.

  18. That is a beautiful quilt and for a super cause. What good work that is for sure. I have breast cancer too so I appreciate the effort all the more. I have never done a walk but would like to do one some day. That is such a good thing. Have a great day.

  19. Pink fits you so well!
You are so adorable in these pictures.
Your friend is very talented and it's a great cause!
    purrs and love
