Happy Friday!

Hi Friends,

Mama wants to thank all of you for your comments about Annie and the bed.  She's been sleeping in it!  Every day Annie gets more and more comfortable in her home.  Mama is really happy about this, but personally, I don't see what the big deal is.  Mama keeps talking about all these great changes Annie has made, from constantly running under the bed to hanging out in the living room, from living in a constant state of fear to curling up in the cat bed or Mama's bed.  Whatever.

On to more important things: we received the Liebster Blog Award from our gorgeous friends Mr. Darcy and Sookie and their mom at Kitcaboodles.  

"Liebster" means dear, dearest, favorite or beloved in German.  Isn't that nice?  We are to pass this on to five other blogs.  It's hard to pick just five and I know many of you have received it, but here are the five I chose:

Toys and Stuff

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  We got a couple toys and some Temptations treats from our grammy.  You can see our new wooly fish and blue mousie in this picture.  We also got a green toy on a stick for Annie who only likes interactive toys that Mama has drag around for her (between you and me, Mama says it's boring but it's the only way to tire Annie out).

A few weeks ago, I talked about this cat bed that Mama got from her work for free.  She got it for Annie's recovery after her surgery but Annie never used it.  Simba claimed it for a few days, but all in all it has been sitting empty.  Well, last night Papa put Annie in it and forced her to sit in it for about a minute.  Annie very rarely sits still and never finds a comfy spot for herself.  She mainly paces around the house. She can never relax!  That's why it's so shocking that she's now going in the bed on her own.

Sadly, she still hasn't actually slept in it. She has to constantly look around.  Some good news is that she and I have been sleeping with Mama at night and I haven't been hissing at her (for the most part).

Oh, I got some ham for Christmas.  Mama brought it back from Christmas dinner at her sister's house.  It was so good!

Mama has this idea that my blog is getting really boring because I'm always sleeping in my pictures.  She put me in the kitchen with a toy for a torture session photo shoot.  Of course Annie had to see what was going on too.

 I'm reporting in from my ham-mick that Mama got us from the last auction.  She disturbed my nap with the flashy box, hence the blurry tail-in-action.  This has been a cozy week with some rain, lovely naps and anticipation of Christmas.

I hope you're all doing well.  I've been great.  I've just really missed visiting with all of you.

I am looking forward to Christmas!  I love being cozy with Mama and Papa anticipating a treat or some cat nip.  Plus, Mama is going to take two days off before and one day after Christmas.

We've Missed You

Hi Friends!

Mama and I have seriously missed you all this past week.  She's been really busy with work and hasn't even been able to visit or post.

Annie's tummy is all healed and her furs are growing quickly.  She and I aren't friends but we tolerate each other.  She usually doesn't go on the bed when I'm on it, so Mama snapped this picture because this doesn't happen very often.

We're a little sad because Mama and Papa are going to take a break for a few weeks.  We will miss you and want to wish you a blessed Thanksgiving.  We will be around this weekend and are looking forward to visiting everyone.  Then we'll be back in mid December.

A Girl and Her Rat

 

Annie is so cute. You can't tell in pictures, but she's a tiny cat, not skinny, just small, much smaller than Lucy and Simba, with short little legs.  She's not cuddly at all. She'll lie down for a tummy rub or some petting for a few moments and then she nips.  It's so hard to have such a cute kitty that doesn't really want to be loved on and just nips.  She loves toys.  Actually, she's obsessed by the interactive toys.  I keep them in the closet. Every time I open the closet, she's right there hoping for play time.

Afternoon on the Patio

I loved my patio in Pennsylvania.  This one is just so-so.  Plus, Mama has no plants, just Papa's barbeque and some chairs.

I love when it gets sunny (it's not very sunny today). I sit in a sun puddle and wait for someone to open the patio door. 

However, I insist that the door stay open.

This and That Tuesday

This past week has been pretty uneventful except for Mama's usual business.  I'm where you'll usually find me.

Mama wouldn't get my tail of disrespect if she didn't disturb my nap with that stupid flashy box.

Annie's tummy has been healing.

Simba's new spot is this new bed.  Mama ordered this two weeks before Annie's surgery.  At her work, people give points as recognition and then you can order what you want with those points from a catalog. Mama saw this bed and thought it would be good for Annie's recovery.  Well, it turns out that Annie's recovery time was nil and the bed didn't even get shipped until over a month after her surgery (and Annie still sleeps under the bed).  We just received the bed last week.

Simba and I are friends.  This may not seem like a big deal, but Mama says it took me about a decade to get comfortable with him.  I used to really not like him.  Mama and Papa have noticed that over the last year we've grown closer.

This scratching post came to us from Annie's previous owners.  Even though she's declawed, she loves to rub her paws on it just like she has claws.  Simba and I love hanging out together on it.

Simba came to live with us when he was around four years old. We are now both 15 and growing old together.
