EZ Sunday

My Sunday looks pretty easy, doesn't it? It's great when the lady changes the sheets. I take over the bed.

The Lady made banana muffins yesterday and I got a little piece. Yum! It's a great weekend!

Finally Friday!

Hooray for Friday and the weekend! According to the Lady, it's been a long week. We're looking forward to fun and relaxation this weekend.

I'm enjoying the sunshine in my air conditioned home but it is hot here in Texas. It's supposed to get up to 104F today and be in the 90s over the weekend. I don't know what the peeps are doing this weekend, but we have a house full of food and treats for all of us, so life is good! What do y'all have planned this weekend?

My Busy Days

I'm very busy. It's true.

I have to watch the different birds all day. I have to alternate napping spots between the couch and the green bed.

 Sometimes I get so tired I just stretch out by the window.

I'll save my eating, playing and getting-lovings-from-the-peeps schedule for another day. I honestly don't know how I manage to find the time for everything. Just thinking about my to-do list makes me tired.

Treats Review!

Kitties and Friends,
Today is a great day! I know you're probably wondering if I finally caught a bird or the Lady finally stopped kissing all over me or if I got unlimited foodies. No, although you're right that all those would make a for a great day. 

I was contacted to do a review on treats. Treats! Chewy.com e-mailed the Lady to see if I would be interested in giving my honest opinion on New Balance Chicken treats. Would I? Are cats orange?* Of course I would!

These treats are healthy not having corn, soy, wheat, artificial flavors or colors, but more importantly, they have chicken as their first ingredient and they're only one calorie per treat.

Yummy!

I can wholeheartedly recommend these treats. Thanks, Chewy, for sending them for my review!

 

*The lady reminded me that not all cats are orange. Sorry.

Wordy Heartfelt Thankful Wednesday

Thank you so much for all your kind comments regarding Simba. The outpouring of support and comfort has been wonderful. Continuing to blog--well, helping Annie to blog--like I did after Lucy is so helpful. It's a good distraction and I love visiting and being a part of a community that loves animals. I miss Lucy and Simba so much. I'm so thankful for Annie who brings a smile to me every day.

Can you count my freckles?

Simba

Our sweet Simba lost his battle with CRF (chronic renal failure) yesterday evening at the age of 17.

He was diagnosed in 2010 and has been doing fine up until the last few months.  Giving him fluids was a life saver. Not only did they extend his life but they also made him much more comfortable. However, his kidneys finally stopped being able to filter out the toxins. He was down to under five pounds and had mouth ulcers.

We are obviously very sad. For me, this is also bringing back the sadness of losing Lucy anew.

Simba was my husband's best friend. He was such a special kitty. To think, he came from a cat collector's house in Reno, NV to us. We were so lucky to have him all these years.

Tosie Tuesday

Keeping my tosies in the pink takes work.

I keep them well scrubbed so they always look good and kissable. The Lady said that last part. I'm definitely not trying to make them kissable.

Stay off the Grass

 Look what the Lady grew for me. Cat grass!

She put it near the window because I hang out there a lot watching the birdies.

The problem is I pull the entire grass and dirt out of the little pot. The Lady finds it lying on its side several times a day with dirt everywhere. She's not thrilled about that.

First it's orange fur she doesn't want and now it's dirt.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

The Lady and Big Guy are abandoning me today. I'll be in the chair all day getting my Easy on.

Maybe you can help me understand why the Lady puts a sheet on the chair. It prevents my orange fur from getting on the chair. How's that a good thing?

Easy Like Sunday

Today is going to be a sweet, orange, soft, easy Sunday, and I plan on getting my easy on!

The Lady is hoping to relax too. It's been a crazy week! You know, I have it hard too. I've been vigilant in my fantasies of bird killing in my bird watching and have barely had any time for myself.
