Monday Morning
Well, it's the start of another work week (for Mama, not me). I had a good weekend. I helped with making the bed, got a little tuna (Mama was using it to bribe Simba to take his medicine), got lots of pets, soaked up the sun on my patio, played with my dragonfly and took lots of naps.
Simba has been having lots of trouble with the antibiotics he's been taking for his infection. The first batch made him have yucky poopies. The second batch made him have yucky poopies and not want to eat. Now, he will probably have to go the vet for an injection that may or may not work. All these antibiotics are costing hundreds of dollars.
I am perkier than I was. Mama is still working on my diet (darn it anyway).
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too! Did you do anything fun?

Sun Patches
No matter how small or big a sun patch is, you can always count on me to find it.
Oh, yeah, this is the life.
Happy weekend, friends! I hope you get lots of sunbeams where you are!

Stuff
Hi friends. I haven't posted since last week because I haven't been up to much at all. What you see above is the extent of what I've been doing lately.
Remember when I posted that Simba and I went to the vet and they ran blood tests on us? That was a few weeks ago. Well, my tests came back perfect, but Simba's came back with elevated kidney numbers. He also has a urine infection. Mama is pretty unhappy about this. Of course, she's worried about Simba, but also it brings back sad memories of Bucky. Interestingly, however, is that Simba seems to feel fine. I, on the other hand, have been lethargic. Mama is afraid I'm gaining weight. Simba has to be on a prescription kidney diet and I've been eating lots of it. She said she's putting her foot down and is going to do what she can to make sure I eat way more canned than dry and limit the amount of the kidney diet I steal from Simba.
Simba has to have an antibiotic every day and fluids every other day. He is not cooperative like Bucky was.
Well, that's what's been going on around here. Plus, Mama has been working more than usual.

My Dragonfly
I got a dragonfly toy a few months ago, and it's still my favorite toy. I play with it (with a little help from Mama) every night.
Times have changed. I used to run up and down stairs chasing the cap off the milk jug. I would run all over chasing other toys. I loved to jump on the bed frame, balancing on it and walking back and forth showing off. I chased the other two male cats that used to live with us. Now, I just lie on my side and bat at the toy (usually purring the whole time). I never jump up on anything but the bed. I'm an older gal. I turn 14 some time this year (I'll celebrate my 14th Gotcha later this year).
I still have fun playing with my toy, sitting out on my patio in the sun and getting lots of pets from Mama. Life is good; it's just not as energetic.
Have a happy weekend, friends!

Sweet Dreams
I've always liked to go to bed kind of late, between 11:00 and 12:00. Lately, I've been surprising Mama by being ready for bed even before she is. Here I am all curled up and ready for sleep. She's still reading and hasn't turned out the light yet. Do you have a certain time you like to go to bed or certain things you do to get ready for sleep at night?

Bubbly Friday
Have you ever played with or watched bubbles? I love them! Unfortunately, they don't come out well in pictures (or Mama doesn't know how to capture them very well).
I highly recommend you get someone to blow bubbles for you. Then you can stretch out on your back and watch them fall to the ground. It never gets old!
Happy weekend! I plan to spend some of it in the sunshine on my patio. I hope you enjoy how ever you spend your weekend!

Wednesday Fun
How do you like my doubledecker bed? Ratsie is smooshed in between.
First, we received the Life is Good award from our friends Tiny and Lautrec at Weez Da Bad Cats. Thanks!
The way this works is Mama has to answer the following 10 questions:
1. What would your perfect day consist of?
A cool, crisp day in autumn, taking a drive to see the leaves, walking some place pretty, having lunch out at a nice restaurant with dessert and coffee too, coming home to a good movie and then a good book.
2. How would you describe yourself if you were an item of clothing?
Cotton blouse
3. What hobbies are you currently working on?
Helping Lucy with her blog, reading mysteries, watching old movies
4. Walking in the woods in wellies or bare foot on the beach?
Well, since I lived in Southern California all my life, I’d like something different. I think walking in the woods in wellies sounds fun.
5. Have you ever hugged or sang to a tree?
Not yet...
6. Growing your own veggies or nipping to the supermarket?
Supermarket. I have a brown thumb.
7. Have you found anyone exciting in your family tree?
Sir Francis Drake, the famous English pirate and sea captain
8. Slap up meal in a posh restaurant or fish ‘n’ chips from the wrapper?
Fish’n’chips!
9. Which element do you most resonate with, Earth, Air, Fire or Water?
Water
10. Do you believe in fairies?
No, but they’re nice to read about.
Next, we received the Versatile Blogger award from The Kool Kitty Krew. Thanks so much, guys!
Rule 1. Thank the person who gave it to you.
Thank you, King, Pandora, Skeeter and Cricket!
Rule 2. Share 9 things about yourself. This time it will be about me.
Rule 3. Pass the award along to 9 bloggers who you think are fantastic.
1. I love sunshine.
2. I love vanilla yogurt and cream cheese.
3. I love my chin being scratched.
4. I am deathly afraid of any humans besides Mama and Papa.
5. I love my bed with my pink blankie on top.
6. In the summer, I patiently wait for Mama to get up every morning so I can go out on the patio. Sometimes I go out before I have breakfast.
7. I groom myself a lot.
8. My most threatening fighting move is to bite the air above Simba's ears. I get very mad if he tries it with me.
9. I love my life.
I know a lot of you have received these awards, so I just wanted to offer them to any of you that haven't. In my book, you're all great bloggers!

Wash Day
Mama washed the sheets, but instead of folding them up and putting them away, she put them on the bed for me to enjoy first. I love clean, soft, warm-out-of-the-dryer sheets. This wasn't for a linen changing. She just let me enjoy them because she knows that makes me happy.
