Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Today is also Friendly Fill-Ins day, hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader. We would love for you to join or even put your answers in the comments. It's a fun way to get to know each other better.
1. The oldest item in my home is the HVAC or washer/dryer. We haven't been here three years and we've had to replace the toilet, dishwasher, fridge, stove, hot water heater and more. For these two, it's just a matter of time, but I'm dreading the HVAC. We will need to win the lottery!
2.The oldest item in my refrigerator is mustard. We're really good at keeping our fridge clean and even the mustard isn't very old (for mustard).
3. My family heritage is English and German. On my dad's side, I can trace my roots back to England several hundred years ago. My great-grandmother on my mother's side was from Germany. I can also trace my California roots back to my great-great-grandfather on my dad's side and my grandparents on my mom's side.
4. My favorite family tradition
Oh my goodness, your St. Patrick's Day images are too cute, Pierrot and Annie! Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you!
ReplyDeleteAnd, as always, I love your fill-ins. My furnace is 15+ years old, so I'm always holding my breath during its inspection every winter, hoping it's still chugging along so that I won't have to get a new one. Your ancestry sounds very much like mine, with lots of German and some English and other European roots. And I love that you have such wonderful memories of Easter. I love Easter, and I always feel like it never gets its just due. It's such a glorious holiday.
Those were great answers and you look terrific pretty Annie! Happy St. Patrick's Day from all of us!
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. My mustard expired in 2015 so I bought a new one yesterday. Your grandma sounds very special, I can see why you would still miss her.

ReplyDeleteHappy St. Catrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteAs far as I am concerned, mustard can stay in the fridge forever as long as it doesn't hop on my food. Now, Duke's Mayonnaise doesn't stay there long. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou two are beautiful, Annie and Pierrot! We love Pierrot's sleek figure and Annie's yawning ferociousness :)

ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great family tradition to me. I don't think that we ever stop missing our grandmas. :(
ReplyDeleteThe kitty pics are adorable.
Have a blessed weekend.
Happy St. Patrick's Day.
ReplyDeleteOur HVAC is also pretty old (mid 80s). I know it would be smart to replace it with something that's more efficient. But it still works, and they don't make the new ones to last that long, so I'm hoping it has more life in it!
Oh man, you've had to replace a lot in your house! We're going to need to win the lottery, to, since the stove and dishwasher are crap in our new house (though functional for now), but the first thing that's going to need replaced is the ancient hot water heater that's literally at the end of its life. Here's hoping your HVAC lasts long enough for you to win the lottery! ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a really cool Easter tradition - sorry for your loss! :(
So interesting to find out about other bloggers. Love the kitty St. Patrick Day photos!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.
Pierrot, you are a very cute Irish cat! We love your fill ins. It might be a scary thing if we posted about the oldest thing in our fridge!
ReplyDeleteGreat answers. We went through repairs after we bought this house, 30 years ago. We replaced it all. Now we are looking to go North. We hope we are wiser, now. We will be careful to check it out more. I had to laugh about the mustard. I love the Easter tradition. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteAnnie and Pierrot celebrating St. Pat's... ♥ Your Easter tradition sounds so sweet... memories. I loved my Grandma, she was a character! My Mom loved Easter and even when CH and I were older and married she did Easter baskets for us. I miss my Mom more that I ever thought imaginable... she has been gone since 1987. We had to replace our HVAC and a lottery win would have been helpful... :)
