Thankful Thursday

We are very thankful for our safety and our home. Our hearts go out to those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. There are so many displaced, humans and animals, and much devastation. It's heartbreaking. We are praying for them.

Austin Pets Alive! and Dallas DogRRR-Rescue.Rehab.Reform (along with other organizations) are rescuing, transporting and sheltering animals.  Samaritan's Purse is helping people as they struggle with all the destruction and damage.

Our friends at Lola the Rescued Cat put together a helpful post of different organizations helping animals.

We're joining Brian, host of Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

  1. We've been watching the coverage, the catastrophe is mind-boggling. We had a rain storm early in August with 110 mm in a day and THAT was crazy. Can't imagine feet of water. :-(

Nicki and Derry have been sending purrs and purrayers to All Beings affected.

  2. I fear hurricane season every year. I am so sad to see what happened in Houston, and yet I'm bracing for the month of September, which is the height of Hurricane season, and there is a monster right now out in the Atlantic which they believe will be another CAT 4 or 5 before landfall in the US someplace.

  8. Everything that is going on in Texas (and India too, where there is a flood that has killed over 1000 people) is very sad. There are many courageous people stepping up, and that is a good thing.
