Friendly Fill-Ins

Today we are joining Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by McGuffy's Reader and 15andmeowing.  Please join or answer in the comments if you like. I really enjoyed reading your responses in the comments last Friday! It's a fun way to get to know each other better.

1. I don't understand why reality TV is so popular. I'm talking about shows like one I've seen advertised about a man married to seven sisters

2. My in case of an emergency person is my husband.

3. There is much for which to be thankful! Please don't think of me as a Pollyanna. There are bad, sad, scary and painful things that happen every day and can be overwhelming at times, but there are always joy and hope too.

4. I would be lost without my GPS. Literally! I have the Waze GPS app on my phone. It's helped me tremendously over the past few years, even in other states and countries. I have a horrible sense of direction.

  1. Awwww....Annie, you are such a cutie. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I hate reality tv and there is so much of it. It bothers me because it is so cheap to make for the networks and takes away from real actors and actresses that have spent their lives learning the craft. I think it is wonderful that you can find much to be thankful for despite our troubled times. If everyone could do that, the world would have more peace. XO

  2. Mom could have completed #1 and #3 exactly as you did; though, she does love watching the Amazing Race and seeing all the places they visit. She agrees, that no matter how bad things are, you can always find something for which to be grateful. Great catch on that toesie photo. Cute, cute! 4. Interesting answers Vicki! Love the photo of Annie with her jellybean toes.
No 1- ripped jeans. I'm showing my age but we never would be seen in them.
    No 2-my husband.
No 3- more good in the world than bad. I see goodness everyday!
No 4- my books! I usually have three or four going at once. I feel all out of sorts if I don't have a good book.
    Take care!

  6. Now THAT photo of Annie is incredible! How can you NOT fall in love with her? I agree there's much to be thankful for. Most people focus on what they don't have or what could be better and that makes them miserable. In my own life, appreciating and focusing on all that I DO have has been the key to happiness. That doesn't mean I don't work for more ... I just appreciate that my life is wonderful and blessed as it is :)

  12. For years, I had a horrible sense of direction, too, and I still get confused many times. But, something must be changing because there have been times that David and I were both confused, but I figured out the right way to go. :)

I can't imagine a man living through being married to seven sisters! Was he married to them all at the same time?!

    Have a blessed weekend. :)

  13. I think so-called reality television is a farce anyway. The show that got me the most was about repo men. I was a repo man and I would see this show and think, "These people are asking for trouble." Get in, get the car, link up with your blocker, and get out of Dodge. Don't stand around and talk junk with the car owner.

  14. I don't like reality TV and you are right about the bad, sad, and scary things that happen. I have cut way back on Facebook because I can't all the bad and scary that is posted. I see enough of it in real life. There is a lot of joy around and why not celebrate it. Thankful always for hope, where would we be without it. Annie, lucky girl finding that sun!

  15. I agree. I try very hard to focus on the good things, not the bad ones. I am a realist. I see the bad, but i try to fix it or avoid it. The blessings are too precious to not appreciate! Hugs!

  17. Sorry I'm so late to visit! But, I love your answers! I was so close to putting the same answer as you for #1. I am not a fan of reality TV, as it all seems so staged and twisted and not at all "real". And I think your answer to #3 is perfect. The world sure can be a scary place, but even so, there is so much beauty and grace and joy to be found as well. Oh, and hello to adorable Annie!
