Remember
when I posted about my vet appointment last Saturday? You guys left
the sweetest comments by the way. Well, my urine test
came back with blood, bacteria and
crystals present. Yesterday, I started on antibiotics and a prescription diet. The Big Guy has to give me the antibiotics twice a day for two weeks! Then, in a month, my urine will be rechecked. It will be decided at that time if I should get an x-ray to see if I have any stones.
It's
been about three and a half years since I had two stones removed from
my bladder. The lady is so surprised that this is happening after all
this time. I seem to feel well. I'm not making frequent trips to the
litter box and I don't seem to be in pain. I'm busy keeping Pierrot in
line and seeking out the best sun puddles in the house.
We're hoping for the best and refusing to worry at this point. We just wanted to share my news.
We appreciate the update and sending tons of purrs to you, Annie.
ReplyDeleteThe best site we know of (vet written) for urinary tract issues is here: http://catinfo.org/?link=urinarytracthealth
Maybe you're already familiar with it!
Paws crossed for you!
Oh, Annie, we hope you won't show up to have any stones. Hoping and purring your antibiotics and new diet will do the trick.
ReplyDeleteWe sure send you lots of purrs and prayers sweetie. We know what those things are like.
ReplyDeleteSilly stones, they belong outdoors, not inside your pee shooter! I pawsonally think it be a good sign you is not showing any symptoms. Rememmer the last time? OWIE! But I has all 4 paws crossed hoping the medicines make it all better.

ReplyDeletePurrs that the antibiotics and prescription diet will do the trick! You're a real trooper, Annie!
ReplyDeleteAnd be sure to keep reminding your mom not to worry, Annie. My Rosie's previous vet once told me that we have to remember to look at the animal and not just the test results. That was a year and a half ago at a time when Rosie's bloodwork revealed that her renal values had elevated drastically from her previous results. At the time, though, Rosie was showing absolutely no outward signs of sickness. So, I kept on administering her renal medications and forced myself to not worry. Now, a year and a half later, Rosie is still doing great, and her renal values have since gone back down to a far less concerning range.
I guess what I'm trying to say in my long-winded way is this: Annie, if you're doing well and not showing any symptoms, then we'll happily focus on your good health!
We're in the purring line to send mega purrs that the antibiotics and new diet help you get rid of that bacteria. Your Mom is wise not to worry. With all these purrs we believe you'll be fine as fiddle.
ReplyDeletepurr purr purr
Paws crossed that the meds and prescription food work and it's not stones!
ReplyDeleteI'm keeping my paws crossed for you Annie, but may be all this means its been caught early,xx Speedy
ReplyDeleteAw well I am hoping for the best too! At least you have been feeling good and everything. I just remember that cats who had past history of crystals would usually get them again later on unless they were eating those prescription diets.
ReplyDeleteOh Annie, I hope it is nothing and will just go away! Sending my best purrs and mummy will pray too xox
ReplyDeleteWe hope you continue to feel well, too!
ReplyDeleteOh Annie, we're hoping that the medicine does the trick and it's nothing serious. It's good that your feeling well. Purrs....
ReplyDeleteWe'll keep our paws crossed that you pass the next test with flying colors.
ReplyDeleteSEnding lots of purrs.
XOXO
Paws crossed that the antibiotics help you get better. I hope you don't mind taking the medicine because two weeks is a long time if you're really annoyed by it. I had to take antibiotic pills twice a day for 10 days after having my teeth pulled and by day 4 it was no fun.
ReplyDeleteWe will be purring and praying that the antibiotics do their job and you don't have to get any xrays or that you don't have any stones! We are glad that you don't feel sick! Now go have fun in those sun puddles!!!
ReplyDeleteI will pray for you Annie. I am glad you are feeling well though.
