Our Oldie Man |
Simba came home Saturday, not Friday, so they could continue one more day of IV fluids. He has to take a potassium pill twice a day and then be rechecked in a couple weeks (we also still give him fluids subcutaneously daily). He's very happy to be home, purring and being chatty. We're still worried for him because so far he seems to have just a little improvement; although, we're very thankful that we found out about his dangerously low potassium level. We're having a hard time getting him to eat, but that's been going on for a while. Well, we will just give him some time and watch him closely. We're just happy to have him home!
Hope he is doing better. Does Simba have CRF? That can cause low potassium.

ReplyDeleteWe're so glad Simba is home now! Hopefully, the potassium med will help him and he'll start feeling better.
ReplyDeletePoor fella! Our Lumpy hated those fluids! We hope he is feeling better and eating well soon, so he doesn't have to go through that. Our Lumpy would break away while the mom was giving the fluids and she'd squirt them all over the kitchen. MOL
ReplyDeleteOur vet prefers our human to take care of us at home when we get sick. We recover faster without stress. Getting IV fluids is painful and stressful for the cat. Pills are better.
ReplyDeleteSending lots and lots of purrs, headbutts and hugs to Simba and mom.
Efurrybody gets better at home, faster. Sending purrs and crossing our paws for you, handsome Simba!

ReplyDeleteSo glad Simba be back home with you! Mom said to tell you to try gibbing Simba some Gerber chickun baby food, you know, the kind fur baby two-leggers? She sometimes has good luck with that when dogs or kittehs not be wanting their regular noms. Me, I could eat nuttin but baby two-legger food but mom say it be costing a small fortune in green papers to fill me up with that :(.
ReplyDeleteGlad Simba is home and I hope he continues to improve.
