Sunday Selfies

It's kind of a weird selfie, but it's our selfie. There we were, one on each side of the toy box, toys lazily tossed hither and thither, and for some unknown reason, I came over to smell Pierrot's fur. Click! Picture taken.

Sunday Selfie

It's the weekend, and when it's the weekend a lot of humans have all kinds of "fun" plans: going out to eat, going shopping, going to the movies, going to parties, taking a hike and whatnot. My weekend is way more exciting. I help make the bed and get chin scratches. Then I take a selfie for the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop.

Happy Mother's Day!

Sunday Selfies

Sometimes, it pays to be a cat.  Well, actually, it's always great to be a cat. In this particular case, we're happy to be kitties because that means nobody will mind--and maybe even expect--that we cheat on our "selfies."  Pierrot wanted to do a vampire selfie, so he posed and the lady snapped the picture.

I honestly didn't want to do a selfie at all, but the lady sneaked up on me.

Sunday Selfies

It's Sunday selfie time! I took time out of having some catnip fun to take my selfie.

Pierrot posed with the Easter toys he received from his best gal, Snowball.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Rearranging toys and taking inventory

1. The most interesting museum I have been to is The Louvre in Paris. I also think The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Philadelphia Museum of Art are very interesting. This was a hard one for me because I love museums and have been to many in both Eurpoe and the United States. There are so many really interesting museums!

2. The most interesting historical place I have been to is Rome. There are many excavations throughout the city that reveal ancient ruins. Philadelphia, which is just an hour away, is a very historical city. Also, not very far from us is the Delaware River. They do reenactments of George Washington's crossing of the Delaware every year on Christmas morning. We went one year. It was really wonderful.

3. Ice cream is back! Now that the weather is warming up, I love to eat ice cream!

4. I was surprised that Annie went out on our balcony. Pierrot has been going out with us quite a bit just recently. He loves it! Annie is unsure. She only goes out for a very short time and only when we stay in. I watch her through the screen just to be sure she's safe. It's funny how she only feels comfortable when we're not out there.

Thankful Thursday

Last week, the lady took me to the vet to get a senior blood test. It tests for just about everything. I'm 10 and a half and it's something the lady has wanted to do for a while. We are very thankful because all my test results are perfect!

This is my 10-second video showing my happiness.

Friendly Fill-Ins

It's time for Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by McGuffy's Reader and 15andmeowing.  Please feel free to join or answer in the comments if you like.

1. An Easter or Passover tradition I have is spending it with family. Living in Pennsylvania, I haven't celebrated Easter with my family in several years.

2. My favorite flavor of ice cream is mint chocolate chip.

3. One of my favorite Easter/Passover traditions is spending the day with my grandma, going to church and having lunch. I also remember one year when I was a little girl winning a big stuffed bunny at an Easter egg hunt in Palm Desert, California.

4. My favorite spring flower is tulip. Honestly, I don't think I have a favorite. I love so many flowers, especially all the colors!

Happy Easter!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17

Friendly Fill-Ins

Today we are joining Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by McGuffy's Reader and 15andmeowing.  Please join or answer in the comments if you like. I really enjoyed reading your responses in the comments last Friday! It's a fun way to get to know each other better.

1. I don't understand why reality TV is so popular. I'm talking about shows like one I've seen advertised about a man married to seven sisters

2. My in case of an emergency person is my husband.

3. There is much for which to be thankful! Please don't think of me as a Pollyanna. There are bad, sad, scary and painful things that happen every day and can be overwhelming at times, but there are always joy and hope too.

4. I would be lost without my GPS. Literally! I have the Waze GPS app on my phone. It's helped me tremendously over the past few years, even in other states and countries. I have a horrible sense of direction.

Sunday Selfies

Pierrot was multi-tasking last night. He was placing his dinner order and posing for his selfie at the same time.
Dinner, lady, and lots of it!

We had about one minute of hazy sunlight yesterday afternoon after several days of rain, drizzle and gloom, so I quickly took my selfie in a side loaf position.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Today we are joining Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by McGuffy's Reader and 15andmeowing.  Please join or answer in the comments. It's a fun way to get to know each other better.

1. The first thing I think about in the morning is feeding the cats. It's impossible to have any other thoughts with Pierrot's loud meows and Annie's chirping.

2.The last thing I think about before sleep is how happy I am that I get to sleep because I'm so tired! I also pray.

3. I am looking forward to Easter. It's a very special day to me.

4. I am so pleased with all my blessings and the many things for which to be thankful. Of course, Annie and Pierrot are included in that.

Lady, be a dear and take my selfie. Lifting the camera is just too much for me right now.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Today is Friendly Fill-Ins day, hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader. We would love for you to join or even put your answers in the comments. It's a fun way to get to know each other better.

1. In the spring, I look forward to warmer weather and seeing the pretty flowers and blooms.

2. I would to have a catnip party. I'm not much of a party hostess, so if I have a catnip party, just my cats are invited and I know it will be a success.

3. Few know this about me, but I taught English as a Second Language once a week for 15 years as a volunteer.

4. No one should ever be mean, whether to each other or to animals.

Friendly Fill-Ins on St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today is also Friendly Fill-Ins day, hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader. We would love for you to join or even put your answers in the comments. It's a fun way to get to know each other better.

1. The oldest item in my home is the HVAC or washer/dryer. We haven't been here three years and we've had to replace the toilet, dishwasher, fridge, stove, hot water heater and more. For these two, it's just a matter of time, but I'm dreading the HVAC. We will need to win the lottery!

2.The oldest item in my refrigerator is mustard. We're really good at keeping our fridge clean and even the mustard isn't very old (for mustard).

3. My family heritage is English and German. On my dad's side, I can trace my roots back to England several hundred years ago. My great-grandmother on my mother's side was from Germany. I can also trace my California roots back to my great-great-grandfather on my dad's side and my grandparents on my mom's side.

4. My favorite family tradition is was Easter. When my grandma was still alive, every Easter we'd go to her house. We'd each bring a food item and after church we had a nice lunch. I miss my grandma terribly even though she passed away over 15 years ago.

Friendly Fill-Ins

Today is Friendly Fill-Ins day, hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader. We would love for you to join or even put your answers in the comments. It's a fun way to get to know each other better.

1. I hope Man with a Plan, Kevin Can Wait and The Middle get renewed for another season. I know these are just quirky comedies, but I don't watch much prime time TV because of the content of the majority of shows (we set the DVR to record some classic TV and movies). These three are not only funny but family oriented.

2. My first crush was orange. Get it? Orange Crush. The soda? I know. It's a cheat and a lame joke to boot. To be fair, though, I did try Orange Crush before caring about boys.

3. Seeing Annie and Pierrot in the sunshine usually always makes me happy.

4. If I were a super hero, I would be a female version of Superman. I would love to be able to fly!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for this pink pad. It's only about a year or two old, it's definitely not fancy and it's been in the washing machine several times, but I sleep on it every night. I think it's just perfect.

Sunday Selfies

I climbed into the recliner for my selfie.  I like to do a one-shot selfie and then get on with my day.

Pierrot would not wake up for his selfie. The lady kept calling his name to wake him up and he wasn't having it. He wanted to continue to sun himself and have the lady do it for him.

Friendly Fill-Ins

We're joining Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader.

1. My favorite spice or herb is cinnamon. I love snickerdoodle cookies, cinnamon toast, cinnamon on apple sauce and just about anything with cinnamon.

2. An herb/spice I dislike is cumin.  Well, I don't really dislike the taste once it's cooked but the smell while it's cooking reminds me of body odor.

3. Lately, I have been working on a crochet blanket project that will most likely never be complete, especially at the rate I'm going.

4. This winter was mild!
