Easy and Hungry Sunday

Yesterday, we had some lovely sunshine although it was very cold at 25F.
When the Big Guy got our electric bill last month, it was very expensive. They decided that they've been setting the thermostat way too high (hey, we're all native Californians except Pierrot). Incidentally, I've been much hungrier than usual. I even steal food out of Pierrot's dish and he lets me. I want to be fed constantly and the lady thinks maybe it's because it's colder in the house. Kitties, do you get hungrier in colder weather? Is that my excuse?

Happy Easy Sunday!

  1. We think we do eat more food in the winter as we need to build up our calories to keep us warm.

  3. Annie, Minchie is doing the same thing with food. In fact this morning he went and gobbled up all the leftovers in Laila's bowl She doesn't get mad at him because he'd lost so much weight Mom is trying to fatten him up. Such a cute picture of you and Pierrot!

  4. We do eat more in the winter, or want more, at least. Partly for the extra calories to bulk up and partly out of boredom (our human supposes) because we really can't get out into our garden. :-)

  10. Welllll.... we live in southern California, where it's not that cold and I'm ALWAYS hungry, MOL! Our heating bill is ridiculous in the winter (though I'm sure nowhere near what yours is), but my human happily pays it because she hates being cold.

  12. Mom doesn't know if my appetite changes with the temperatures, but it would make sense that we need to grown fur in winter and that takes a lot of protein.

  15. Annie Bear - we know it's difficult to see the doc, but we're concerned. Hypothyroidism should be ruled out. It happened to our little girl. It's something to check out.

  16. Sounds like a good excuse to me, Annie. I think I might try that one. There's bags of jerky in the pantry just waiting to be nommed up. The bags do say "no more than 2-3 per day" based on my weight (according to mom, sigh). So if'n I gain weight, I can nom more jerky, right?

  19. Our electricity bill has been much higher too... but it's just sooo cooooold! We don't know if we're hungrier int he winter time. Maybe because we are "starving" all the time! At least that's what we like to make Mom and Dad think -- that way they give us more food! sometimes...
