Simba

Our sweet Simba lost his battle with CRF (chronic renal failure) yesterday evening at the age of 17.

He was diagnosed in 2010 and has been doing fine up until the last few months.  Giving him fluids was a life saver. Not only did they extend his life but they also made him much more comfortable. However, his kidneys finally stopped being able to filter out the toxins. He was down to under five pounds and had mouth ulcers.

We are obviously very sad. For me, this is also bringing back the sadness of losing Lucy anew.

Simba was my husband's best friend. He was such a special kitty. To think, he came from a cat collector's house in Reno, NV to us. We were so lucky to have him all these years.

  5. Warm {{hugs}} and kitty kisses to you from us. You were blessed that Simba did so well, and I'm sure he's busy pestering Lucy (again). He was a sweet boy and has a special spot in our hearts; we know he has two good knees too, now.
